The Anti-Racist Literacy Framework is designed to help you bring anti-racist practice into literacy lessons.

It
was shaped by young people, teachers, academics, literacy leads and critical friends across Scotland and
co-created with Navan Govender,​ ​​​Lecturer in Applied Language and Literacy Studies at the Strathclyde Institute of Education​​, and Titilayo Farukuoye, writer and anti-racist educator.

The questions in the Framework can be applied to any genre of text and at any level. They are designed to be applied to any text or object, and not only those which explore explicitly issues of race and racism. Examples of how to apply the framework across 5 different genres and at 1st – 4th CfE Levels can be found in the teaching materials below:
